ABOUT OUR SUMMER CLASSES FOR YOUTH

Canton Clay Works is committed to teaching our youth audience the craft and skills in the field of ceramics. CCW owner Tim Scull has gathered experienced, energetic, youth-oriented instructors who will teach all of our summer youth classes. We are dedicated to in-depth teaching of techniques that will last a lifetime. Our primary goals are encouraging our students to enjoy and feel the excitement of new skills, forms, and creations while absorbing and appreciating the cultural roots and earth sciences of their new discoveries. We offer the student the opportunity to explore firing techniques with high fire stoneware glazes originating in ancient China. It is our mission to share our firing techniques and their significant history with our students.

All our Summer Youth Classes will meet for four - two hour classes, Mon-Thurs, each week listed. In addition to these four classes the student will then return on a Friday, two weeks later, for a fifth two hour class to complete their glazing. Parents are highly encouraged to enroll their children in more than one week in order to enable the development of their children skills.
